Reception staff are often unable to speak English even if the doctor can. The most common way to make appointments is using the telephone. It is still quite rare to be able to arrange appointments online or using email in Japan from the first time visit.
Please note we do not offer 24 hour emergency assistance. We do not make an urgent, same day appointment arrangements.
Our service is for residents living in Japan. If you are a tourist, please consult your hotel or a travel insurance companies to arrange an appointment.
Specialists, like psychiatrists, dentists, gynaecologists and pediatricians, require appointments in advance. Physical examination services (such as for company medicals) also requires an appointment to be booked well in advance.
General internal medicine doctors often do not require an appointment but we recommend that you check if they are open when you want to go and many walk-in clinics can close without advance notification.
Major hospitals need a referral letter to before they will make an appointment and the appointment staff may ask a lot of detailed questions.
