How do I find an English speaking doctor?
Most local governments provide a database of local hospitals and clinics online. Through these databases you can search for English-speaking doctors, but this information itself often only available in Japanese.
Tokyo’s database is in both English and Japanese: http://www.himawari.metro.tokyo.jp/qq/qq13enmnlt.asp
*CAUTION* Even though the information on these websites might say “This is an English-speaking clinic,” the information could be out of date or English staff might not be available at the time you visit.
Contact us and we will confirm the availability of English-speaking staff on your behalf, to ensure your visit will not be wasted (Limitations: we cannot be liable for sudden or unexpected change of doctor’s availability or information mistake from the clinic/hospital staff). Finding English-speaking clinics and hospitals in your area is a free service we offer.
A fee will not be charged unless you request to have an appointment or other arrangement set up for you. Assistance in making an appointment is 1100 yen. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment we have set up, it will be done free of charge.
We have information regarding international clinics with non-Japanese doctors as well.

My 19 year old daughter moved to Tokyo on a year and a half student VISA. JHI helped her to get Japanese Health Insurance, her Alien Registration Card, find an English speaking Doctor, and even made an appointment for her. They provide maps and even helped her deal with problems we encountered mailing a prescription medication to her. Communication with them is very prompt, and the English translation is EXCELLENT! Worth every $$$ it costs!
