How do I refill foreign prescriptions?
Japanese pharmacies do not accept foreign prescriptions. You will need to obtain a prescription from a Japanese doctor, which can be obtained after a consultation.
Many foreign brands of medication are not available in Japan. Instead, you doctor will try to prescribe a different brand that has a similar or the same effect as your foreign brand.
Some medications can not be prescribed at all due to differences in drug regulations.
JHI can help you find a doctor in Japan who can prescribe the medicine you need. Contact us.
*Please bring your foreign prescription, a letter from your doctor or your actual medication with you when visiting the Japanese doctor.
