Circumcision
Circumcision of newborn babies is an uncommon procedure in Japan. However, there are a limited number of hospitals and surgeons that offer this service. Most of these are located in Tokyo.
Generally it will be performed as either a day surgery. The costs vary, it will be at least more than 10,000 yen.
The procedure becomes more expensive and difficult as the baby gets older, so it is best done soon after the baby is born.
Circumcision is not covered by Japanese Health Insurance.
